NHRA History Made in Topeka Erica Enders becomes the first woman in NHRA Pro Stock History to qualify No. 1 at the O'Reilly Summer Nationals in Topeka, Kansas. Also at the same event, another record was set when Top Fuel points leader, Melanie Troxel qualified No. 1 in her event. Great Driving Girls!

Chip Off the Old Block... Ashley Force gets her funny car license. She drove one of Dad's cars with a 4.936 ET which she already tested at 315 mph! Her father, the 13-time champion and racing icon John Force, couldn't be prouder of his little girl. John commented that Ashley is definitely a driver, but she drove like she has been doing it for years.

New Firebird Concept Car Coming Soon Pontiac drops the GTO for 2007 due to poor sales. Rumor has it that Pontiac is basing the concept on the new Camero concept. Generally, these pontiac concept cars rarely go into production; most go through so many changes before the design is finalized, that finally, in the interest of keeping the costs down, the concept car is not produced at all. These pontiac concepts use exotic and expensive parts and metals, not suitable for car mass-production.

Ford Power Pack Engineered as part of the Ford FR500C Grand-Am Cup racing program, Ford Racing Performance Parts now offers three performance packs for upgrading 2005-2006 Mustangs: FR1 Power Pack, FR2 Drag Pack, and FR3 Handling Pack.
The Power Pack adds a throatier exhaust tone and increased horsepower with a new mass air meter and Ford Racing premium fuel calibration. The Drag Pack adds a new final drive ratio, exhaust headers and short-throw shifter, as well as the Power Pack features. The Handling Pack includes dampers, springs, anti-roll bars and a strut tower brace.
