2008 SEMA Show - Las Vegas, Nevada
November 4-7, 2008

    It was great to get back to the largest car show in the world. The 2010 Chevy Camaro was the official car of the show, but Dodge got plenty of attention with several versions of the 2009 Challenger including Hurst Hemi Challenger and Mr. Norm's Super Challenger. Ford brought their 2008 Mustang Cobra Jet Drag Car which proves that the Big 3 Automakers are at war for the hearts and minds of muscle car enthusiasts. This years show was evidence that the high-performance industry and muscle car culture is strong as ever, even with wildly fluctuating gas prices and a shaky stock market.

    The NHRA set up a autograph table comprised of the fastest women in auto racing, including Ashley Force, Hillary Will, Melanie Troxel, Karen Stoffer and Patty Llewellyn. When the girls entered the room, the fans were already lined up and waiting to meet them and get an autograph. I also met Diana & Kate Harker, twin sisters from Austrailia, who race NHRA top Alcohol Dragsters. Next time you are at a NHRA drag race, take the time to visit with them, they were very nice to talk to.
